We all saw the shocking news: a Chinese college student illegally registered to vote in Michigan using his college ID card and cast his ballot. Despite admitting his crime, his vote was tabulated just like yours or mine.

This happened because Michigan's constitution includes voting loopholes that put the integrity of our elections at risk.

Rep Bryan Posthumus will introduce an amendment to the state constitution to fix this. It will come to a vote next year to close these loopholes for good. The amendment would:

• Require proof of citizenship to register to vote and ...
• Require proof of identity to cast a ballot.

If Lansing doesn't fix this, WE THE PEOPLE will. If the Michigan Legislature won't pass this constitutional amendment and put it to a vote of the people, we'll launch a drive to collect the signatures it takes for voters to fix this once and for all.
